The William Alexander Scott Chronicle was created on Sunday, August 5, 2018 in honor of the legacy of William Alexander Scott, the founder of the Atlanta World (AW) on Tuesday, August 5, 1928 . . .  Thus, Sunday, August 5, 2018 marked the 90th anniversary of the founding of the AW . . .

In 1932, the AW became a daily, the Atlanta Daily World (ADW) . . .  The current Scott family members continue to be so proud of the legacy of William Alexander Scott, chiefly in his capacity to establish what is still considered to be the first successful black newspaper in the history of the United States . . .  The paper becoming a daily newspaper, as referred to just above, only enhances William Alexander Scott’s most impactful contributions to the human experience, in the world today . . .
